All things wax and wane under the curtain of time.
The world, normally bathed in chaos, has had a number of stable states through the ages. To shore up against time's erosion, humans pursued technologies that would transcend time.
Stories, histories, traditions, rituals: these things carry ideas beyond the shores of our own minds and bodies. The scribes of antiquity carried these truths inside of them, slowly refining them into myths and legends. Today, digital media permeates the air surrounding us. Radio transmitters broadcast across vast spectrum, filling the air with stories about our lives and cultures and beliefs.
The human race has always been against time.
I’m a Mixed-Media Artist, although that feels like a bit of an understatement. Combining bookmaking, oil, plaster, acrylic, plaster, and a variety of other mediums, my work zips between abstraction and surrealism as we explore this web of stories about technology, dread, desire, race, spirituality, the tension between uncertain pasts and undetermined futures, the alien societies within our own heritage, and how “normal” can take many forms across time and space.

Pilgrim’s Crossing @ The Jazz Gallery
This suite of paintings—titled Pilgrim’s Crossing—was created as a companion to the poem, “Another Lonely Pilgrim,” the musings of a pilgrim after they discover they weren’t alone in their sacred garden. Over four parts, they alchemize a potential solution for the miasma surrounding them.
As we go through the dark months ahead, and the enclosures around us tighten, this waystation waits for those walking the pilgrim’s way. It’s a place to double check your tools and charts, and a place to grab a light to make the road forward easier, because the world makes pilgrims of us all.
